One Night Stands

Our parents may not like it, you may not like it but you can’t stop society and attitudes changing and never has this been more evident when looking at our views on one night stands. .

You don’t have to be too old to remember the days when men were empowered to be the relationship leaders; invariably it was they who initiated the first date….and how hard was it!! Having plucked up the courage to approach the girl of your dreams you were faced with the possibility that you would crash and burn, not surprising then that a successful first date would lead to a second and a long protracted romance.

So what has changed and why is there are growing trend towards one night stands and f-buddies.

One aspect that can not be overlooked is the ease of communication. Today you have social media tools in abundance to aid your quest for fun. If you are looking for no strings attached sex then a profile that reflects this view will very quickly solicit numerous men/women willing to oblige.

Another major factor in the sexual evolution is the attitude of females. Never have you ladies been more confident, you know what you want and you know how to get it. In addition females today occupy increasingly more important positions in the work place and as such steady relationships seem to be rare.

So is it wrong for two strangers to have sex on the first date and never see each other again? I suppose the answer to this is who are you or I to judge. If two consenting adults want to meet up for uncomplicated sex then why not, I for one have been on numerous dates which never got anywhere near sex and later wished I had not bothered.

We often hear the saying is that life is too short and we should therefore cherish our youth…if this involves a series of one night stands or no strings dating then all I will say is enjoy yourself and be safe.
